Silver Spring I heard my horror-scope was good for today: does anyone believe the bad ones?
I read that less than 10% of homeowners facing foreclosure have received modifications and the Treasury Department is hoping that “naming” and “shaming” works to get improvements: how pathetic is that?
I read that the Blue Dogs real strategy, according to Thomas Frank writing for the Wall Street Journal, is to squeeze themselves between legislation and the donors to raise more money for their campaign funds, and it’s working for them very well: why would I be surprised?
I read Andy Petite saying how much he enjoyed watching Roy Halliday pitch and the fact that he’s the “best pitcher in the league now,” even as Petite was winning and Halliday (who I got to see pitch and lose earlier this year in Toronto!) was losing: how rare is it to find a class act?
I got a whole bunch of birthday wishes after having spent a lifetime keeping my birthday to myself and immediate family because even if you don’t include the information in your Facebook profile it all ends up coming out anyway, so you might as well roll with the punches, because the alternatives suck: who would have ever believed I would raise more than $1000 – which we did – from folks seeing the Facebook posting and figuring out a way to give, one way or another?
Thanks for the best wishes and full steam ahead: how lucky am I?
Very, very lucky indeed!
