Wayne LaPierre

New Orleans   In the wake of NRA executive vice-president, Wayne LaPierre’s crazed Washington, DC press conference yesterday where he called for armed guns guarding schools across the country and said that the “only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” a number of states are moving to block any potential application he might make for a gun permit in their jurisdictions.  It seems the laws in a number of these states prohibit gun ownership or permit issuance to any individual showing clear signs of mental derangement.  Now that LaPierre has demonstrated such a clear lack of grasp on anything remotely resembling reality in the United States in these times, his obvious mental instability, as demonstrated in the news and on television, establishes prima facie evidence supporting his permit denial.

To the degree that LaPierre continues to claim that he actually represents the views of the 4 million members of the National Rifle Association (NRA), there is active discussion in a number of states in the north east and Pacific coast about now using their membership in the NRA as sufficient evidence to deny their mental stability warranting a gun permit.  At the least they may be forced to be silent in the real debate now emerging about the future of gun regulation in the USA, and it’s a good thing!
